Walking in Her Memory
For Baye Mahoney, it is her mom’s amazing spirit and memory that inspires her and her team, Margie’s Marchers, to walk at The Journey every year.“Our team is named for Marion Margaret McCormick, or for those who knew and loved her—Margie. To us, Margie was so many things: Mother, Sister, Aunt, Teacher, and Friend.”
When Margie was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2012, she faced it head-on with her signature grit, and the care and resources at The Princess Margaret kept her comfortable and optimistic.
Margie’s Marchers have raised over $238K to date and they continue their incredible fundraising year-over year. This year they’re hoping to raise $100K in support of life-saving cancer research at The Princess Margaret. “It means the world to our team to have been involved and to renew the hope that cancer can be conquered. It is our dream that no family must endure the loss of their Margie.”
